Republican congressman boasts of Iraq having sunshine

Representative Peter King (R-NY) is back on the offensive, in describing gains the US has made in the liberation of Iraq, praising the presence of sunshine in the region.  “It’s like Manhattan.  It’s quite lovely this time of year,” said, the congressman, who has been visiting many of the secured areas of Baghdad over the last 12 months.  “I was quite enchanted.”

“It’s really quite incredible.  It’s not like we’re talking about Bangla Desh or Ethiopa.  There are actually not that many dead people on the streets anymore, and the ones that are on the streets are usually cleaned up the next day.  I think the citizens are on the verge of really appreciating all that we have done for them, and then, we’ll probably be greeted as liberators after the fact.”
