President Bush is putting Congress on notice, and declared at Thursday’s hastily called press conference that he planned to hold his breadth, stomp his feet, and “storm right out of here,” if Congress is unwilling to leave detention policies exactly as they are now.  In discussing his personal lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill with the Vice President, Bush said “We need the freedom to back up our will in questioning and holding these prisoners, and the restrictions being proposed by the Supreme Court are unacceptable.  I will not recognize them, I don’t have to, and I’m going to stand here until I’m blue in the face.  I hope I am making myself clear.”

He then put his fingers in both ears to drown out any further questions from the White House press corps.
