White House surrogates have pulled back from efforts to link the will and resolve of the 9/11 hijackers with Olympic bombing suspect after realizing he was eventually acquitted.

Tony Snow had said in a press staement last week that Jewell was apprehended, as will be worldwide terrorist criminals, because “they are the face of evil.”

“I really resent the implication,” said “I was in court for years trying to clear my name, and they didn’t even give me the benefit of the doubt, and I really am not an evil guy, and they know it,” he said.

Randall Terry was eventually convicted of the Olympic bombing in Atlanta.

Other “bogeymen” used for drawing parallels to terrorists in recent weeks include the former Reverand Jim Jones, former GE CEO Jack Welsh, Larry Hagman (who played “J.R. on TV’s long-running program “Dallas”), and the current Vice President, Dick Cheney.
