After announcing the recent capture the number two leader of the Iraqi al Qaeda cell, and in the aftermath of the killing of its controversial former leader Abu Musad al Zarqawi, newly declassified intelligence indicates that remaining Iraqi al Qaeda members, and al Qaeda leaders Osama Bin Laden and Zawahiri, and the Taliban remnants in Afghanistan plan to surrender in the coming weeks, particularly if the prospects don’t look better for Republicans in contested seats for the fall elections.

“Are those guys in trouble?” Zawahiri reportedly told an associate on what he though was a private line. “Is there anything we can do? Is it a big enough deal that, if we surrender, it helps? Well, then lets look into it and, by all means, help. Maybe they just can’t keep things together on their own anymore.”

Some are calling it a cynical ploy via Intelligence Czar John Negroponte, considered mainly sympathetic to the Republican administration that appointed him.

But others, like political strategist, Karl Rove, counter that these allegations are false and wondered aloud to reporters “Why do these people love our enemies and hate America?”
