FOX News to pay FCC violations for allowing anchor to continue broadcasting during time of being certified insane

The FCC has refused to rescind penalties against FOX News anchor Brit Hume, who broadcasted last week urging viewers to support what he called a “likely nuclear attack on Iran by by the United States,” in spite of the fact that he had no basis from which to argue that an attack on Iran would be safe or practical, and the fact that the anchor was, in fact, in the midst of “fever dream” of madness at the time. The mania was induced by overuse of amphetamine based prescription medicines.

“We are disappointed by the court’s decision, obviously,” said FOX News President Roger Ailes. “Brit is tremendous newscaster. Let’s not forget how guys like Dan Rather have walked off the set or been involved in all sorts of shenanigans without the FCC levying penalties of any kind.”

Ailes has complained in the past that feels his network is unfairly targeted by watchdog groups. The episode is reminiscent of a penalty endured for a Neil Cavuto broadcast where toxic chemicals in his home were blamed for a particularly angry polemic linking Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Islamic extremist groups, but the content of the newscast, in fact, differed only slightly from the content of his usual broadcasts, and the fine was minimal.
