Bush links Lebanese conflict and Iraq war, “They’re right next to each other”

In his weekly radio address this week, President Bush advised Americans that the conflict in Lebanon and the overthrow of the Iraqi government are intricately linked, because both conflicts represent regions in disarray, both are areas where democracy is struggling to take hold, both are areas that could potentially harbor terrorist threats, and “both areas are kind of close together.”

“They’re right next to each other,” he said in today’s address intended as an attempt to explain the terror war effectively, and again facilitated by retained analyst Pilar Putnam, a former rocket scientist.
