President Bush asserted during a question and answer session with reporters following today’s 4th of July speech that the new Al Gore film, “An Inconvenient Truth,” is “stupid,” and “I didn’t get it.”  “No one on my staff liked it very much,” he said in referring to a recent White House only screening.  “We really liked the ‘Pirates of The Carribean’ movie though,” he said.

Spokesman Tony Snow clarified, later in the day, that the President felt the presentation by Al Gore in the former film was “a little wooden,” and the President was enamored with Johnny Depp’s bravura performance in the newly-released latter film, and that “for a busy President, a documentaries like these are just too heavy-handed and preachy.”
