Ahmadinejad on the Holocaust: “I’m glad I got that out of my system”

In spite of a decidedly muted reponse by the international community, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is declaring pride that he held a world conference on the possibility that the Holocaust did nort exist, because he wished to get it off his chest. “Maybe people see my motives as suspect. It is greeted with a ‘ho-hum’ response. But these things build up. I’m glad I got that out of my system. I feel so much better.”

Though the conference provided a forum for views such as those that deny conventional views of logic and particulate matter, the existence of the Holocaust, in the larger framework, is seen as an important ideological principle for justifying the presence of the Jewish state of Israel in the heart of the Middle East. This has long been a source of the rhetorical framework for framing Muslim and Arabic repression by Ahmadinejad. But he said today that he is ready to move on. He is planning a conference for next year on why his mother never loved him.
