Bush hands out “Don’t Mess with Texas” T-shirts to new Iraqi security forces

With worsening conditions on the ground for Iraqi security forces, in the face of escalating violent attacks, President Bush has urged resolve, and issued T-shirts to Iraqi troops with the logo “Don’t Mess with Texas” emblazoned across the front. “A morale booster,” Press Secretary Tony Snow said, “from the commander-in-chief, to these brave men and women, fighting for freedom, on the ground, and he is following their progress.
“It’s just the President’s way of saying he cares,” Snow said.
